We are proud to partner with Hygge Supply, a Michigan-based sustainable cabin builder that is dedicated to creating intentional style of living through mindful simplicity. Since their establishment in 2016, Hygge Supply has been at the forefront of modern kit home construction, with a focus on environmentally conscious materials and sustainable practices.
Founder Kelly Sean Karcher was inspired to create Hygge Supply after the success of his property, The Modern Farmhouse, which he renovated into a simple and clean home with a Scandinavian design concept. The farmhouse's popularity on Airbnb inspired Karcher to start Hygge Stay, a short-term rental management company that specializes in unique, high-design homes. This eventually led to the creation of the first Hygge Supply home, which was designed to be a sustainable, Scandinavian-inspired kit home that could be constructed on a relatively short timeline.
The result is a stunning portfolio of homes that embody Hygge Supply's commitment to sustainable, intentional living. From clean lines and floor-to-ceiling windows to seamless indoor/outdoor living, each Hygge Supply home is carefully crafted to provide a unique and unforgettable living experience.

Cabinetry
Hygge Supply custom cabinets are featured throughout Idyll Reserve, including all storage cabinets, vanities, and kitchen islands. The cabinets themselves are floor-to-ceiling units which have been specifically designed to accommodate the dimensions and specifications of each cabin.

Kitchen Island
The kitchen islands are also custom designed with powder-coated steel frames, cabinet fronts, and functional drawers. The island includes Richlite resin-infused paper countertops which are incredibly durable, versatile, and highly sustainable material composed of approximately 65% FSC-certified or recycled paper content and 35% phenolic resin.

Bathroom Vanity
All vanities are custom designed with powder-coated steel frames, cabinet fronts, and functional drawers. Vanities come as stand-alone furniture pieces which are installed on-site and come either with a single sink. The countertops come with Richlite resin-infused paper countertops which are incredibly durable, versatile, and highly sustainable material composed of approximately 65% FSC-certified or recycled paper content and 35% phenolic resin.

Panels & Insulation
The cabins have two types of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for the building envelope. The SIPs for the floors and roofs are designed for each and manufactured with a foam insulated core surrounded with metal skins. The exterior walls are SIPs that are designed to provide structural framing, insulation, sheathing, and a vapor barrier in one, fast high-tech step. These SIPs do not degrade over time and provide exceptional insulation with some of the highest R-values on the market. Panels are made with some recycled content and custom made to order so there was little waste on the job site.

Heated Flooring
All cabins were built with with radiant floor heating. Radiant floor heating systems supply heat directly to the floor of the house and provide heat through infrared radiation and convection. It is more efficient than baseboard heating and usually more efficient than forced-air heating because it eliminates duct losses.
